Walking! Talking! Teeth!

Nathan is walking now! He started about 2 weeks ago, taking a few steps here and there. But, last week, he took more and more steps and was able to stop himself midway to regain his balance. This week, in fact, it was just yesterday, I witnessed him running! I looked up from what I was doing when I heard the faster than normal pitter-patter. That’s when I saw him running. We always thought he was going to run first before he learned how to walk– it may turn out to be true!Nathan has also been “talking” more and more. He tends to be very vocal in the evenings or after meals. Yesterday, we were playing with the new toy his Auntie Judy had gotten him. It’s a doggie that teaches the parts of the body and plays songs. I had pressed the foot and after the doggie said “foot”, Nathan said “fud”. I tried to get him to say it again, but it was a one time deal.

He also has 4 upper teeth coming in at the same time. That will make it a total of 6 teeth– he has 2 bottom ones already. Because of his teething, he’s been gnawing at things. He’s put some deep marks on his nice (and expensive!) crib. We had to purchase not one, but two rail protectors for it! We would rather him gnaw on that instead. His nickname is now “Beaver”.
